Courteous service and a stylish, comfortable restaurant. Lunch is a pleasure with 4 different types of lunch changing every day of the week. I would like to go back.
At 11:30 on a rainy weekday that suddenly turned cold, I went to CALL CALL next to KOBAYA, which I visited the other day. A dining bar is also serving lunch.

Although there are menus and messages in front of the restaurant, the black exterior of the restaurant is intimidating, making it a bit difficult to enter. From the outside, I could sense that the interior of the restaurant was friendly and convivial.
Like the exterior, the interior of the restaurant is blackish brown, with a fashionable Japanese feel.
Upon returning to the office, I learned from Cole’s official website that it appears to be a kimono shop. This is a bit off, but the website is a combination of a dining bar and a kimono shop, and to be honest, it is hard to tell what kind of shop it is. I felt that it would be less confusing if the entire domain was separate.
I ordered a Chinese rice bowl for 920 yen. I did not notice until I looked at the menu inside the restaurant, but to my surprise, the four types of lunch menu changes every day of the week. This is amazing. I couldn’t help but cheer for the restaurant and think that they are working very hard to run the business.
I ordered the Chinese rice bowl for 920 yen, but what I really wanted was the roast beef rice bowl for 1,050 yen. I always carry two 1,000 yen bills with me, but it is difficult to ask for something that is a little over 1,000 yen because I would have to make a lot of change.
It is easy to run out of change at restaurants where I don’t think the turnover rate is that high. If it is a large, cheap chain with a good turnover rate, it is not a problem because there are many people who pay with small change.
The problem is with stores that do not seem to have a good turnover rate: if you pay 2,000 yen for 1,050 yen, you end up with 950 yen in change. I am not comfortable with this. Therefore, I tend to choose dishes that require as little change as possible. It is one way of cheering me up.
There seem to be two employees: one woman working at the counter as a hall staff and one in the kitchen. They may be a couple.
It took 7 minutes and 11 seconds after I placed my order for my food to be delivered. It was beautifully arranged. I took a bite of the Chinese rice bowl. Yes, it is an ordinary Chinese rice bowl. It is not so delicious that I am impressed, but it tastes like a normal, common Chinese rice bowl.
There are three small bowls: cabbage, tofu, and miso soup. All of them are carefully prepared and very tasty.
After finishing all the food, we relax for a bit. The waiter immediately sensed that the water had run out and refilled it for us. It is no exaggeration to say that this kind of thoughtfulness determines whether a restaurant is good or bad.
As a form of support, when there is no one else in the restaurant but myself among the customers, I often leave the restaurant for a while, even after I have finished eating.
The following is a list of the effects of the number of people in the restaurant on the customers, in the order of the situations in which people are more likely to enter a restaurant they do not know.
1.There are a few customers in the store.
2.There are many customers in the store.
3. There are no customers.
4. There is a long line of customers.
As is the case with street vendors and street performances, if there are a small number of customers rather than no customers, people will stop to take a look. The same is true of restaurants. Therefore, I pay attention to whether or not I can see inside the restaurant from the outside.
After a while, at 12:00, when the rain stopped and the streets became more crowded, I left the restaurant.
One thing that bothered me a little was that the waiter did not notice customers entering the store because there was no doorbell attached to the entrance like in Kobushi. They might normally notice since the restaurant is not that big, but they don’t notice if you are a little further in. It would be better to have a doorbell and be able to say “Welcome” right away.
Also, although this may be the target, the name of the store and what kind of shop it is cannot be recognized from the outside. I felt that this was one of the points that made it difficult to enter. In any case, Cole is a very comfortable and courteous restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious lunch, and I would like to go back.
Like Kobaya and Kerara, there are many good restaurants in this area.
Finally, here are the menus for each day of the week as of October 2023.
