It’s a little expensive for lunch, but the restaurant has a pleasant energy and the set that comes with the yam was delicious, so I would go back.
On the last day of a three-day weekend, we went to [Yoyo-Yoka-Do] near Shinjuku-Gyoenmae station at 13:30. I had been curious about this restaurant since I visited Fukushiki and Ebi Ramen Haruki. I felt the appearance of the restaurant was a bit stylish and warm.

A sign in front of the restaurant lists the lunch menu. The price is about 1,200 yen. It seems a little expensive for lunch. It seems that all lunches come with yam. I could not see how crowded the restaurant was from the outside.
I gathered up my courage and entered the restaurant, only to be greeted by a cheerful voice saying, “Welcome! There is a kitchen right in front of the entrance, and two foreign waitresses are working busily.
A young man, who was probably the manager, had a very clear voice. When I went to sit down at the empty counter, he said, “I’ll have a set ready for you right away.
As soon as he brought me a set of water and chopsticks, he asked me if I had any allergies. I have no allergies. I was surprised at this unique arrangement.
I ordered the Nagasaki High Quality Unzen Ham and Eggs for 1,200 yen. I was torn between this and the Awa Dori Oni-kiri Abura-no-Kiri Chicken for 1,200 yen, but I have been eating too much fried chicken lately, so I decided to avoid it this time. Oh, it’s “oroshi” (grated onion), not “oni-kiri” (demon-killer). Awa-dori chicken with grated onion.
Before the dishes were served, a set salad appeared. It was a nut coleslaw salad. It was also delicious. After eating the salad, one could probably expect the food to be good.
Also, the water is delicious. It is crystal clear and tastes great down your throat. There is a small lint box, but there are no tissues to wipe your mouth or hands.
The food was delivered 8 minutes and 7 seconds after ordering. The waiter was explaining the dishes, but he spoke so fast that I could not catch what he was saying. I heard that I could have another serving of rice.
There are two sauces to put on the ham and eggs: regular soy sauce and a yakisoba-style Worcestershire sauce called “sous-coc.
Oh, I just figured it out. I just figured it out: it’s “cock sauce,” not “sous-coc. I looked it up on Google and found out. While I was eating the dish, I kept wondering what “sous-coc” was, thinking that it tasted like yakisoba noodles but was a Thai condiment.
While pecking at ham and eggs, I drank some soup and poured yam over rice. I thought about leaving it behind, as I am not a fan of yam yam yam, but I gathered up my courage and poured it over the rice.
At first it felt a little strange, but I soon got used to it. It tastes good with a little bit of soy sauce. Oh, yam is delicious. Even though I am not a fan of yam yam trolls, I could enjoy eating yam.
As it was, I was able to eat all of it, with ham and eggs and two kinds of sauces in my mouth, while pouring the yam over the rice.
The “Yo-Yo-Yo-Yo-Ka-Do” izakaya is a slightly trendy izakaya. Even if you are not a fan of yam yam, you should give it a try. Perhaps, you will be able to eat it at Yoka Yoka Do.
The interior of the restaurant is pleasantly cheerful and the food is delicious. I would like to go there again.
