It’s 11:30 on a cold and rainy Friday, and I’m craving something warm to eat, so I head to Kobushi in Shinjuku 6-chome. It had been raining lightly earlier, but suddenly it started to rain harder.
I decided to go to another restaurant if it was full of customers, so I peeked inside the restaurant and saw two groups of customers. I entered the store and went to the counter in front of the cash register at the back of the store. It was quite cold in this position. Probably because the back door was open. It’s no wonder Tubo is hot even on a day like this.

Since I ordered thick tsukemen last time, today I order regular tsukemen with flavored egg for 1,000 yen. While I was waiting for my order to be ready, a call came in to the restaurant asking for take-out orders. I heard that there were about 15 items in total. Wow, this is a very popular restaurant.
The tsukemen came in 8 minutes and 49 seconds after I placed my order. The noodles were hot because I had ordered a hot serving. I took a sip of the soup. Compared to the thick tsukemen I had last time, it was naturally lighter. I felt that it was a little insufficient.
I added about 3 cups of fish powder on the table to adjust the taste. It adds richness and sweetness, and it is quite good. The chashu pork and seasoned egg are, of course, delicious.
We ate quickly and left before the restaurant became crowded. The rain was getting heavier and heavier. I wonder if I will be okay on my way home. On a cold day, I can only enjoy warm kobushi tsukemen.
