At 11:15 on Saturday, I went back to Ippekoppe, which I visited yesterday. It is delicious and probably popular, so I thought there would be a wait for the restaurant to open on Saturday, but there wasn’t, and there was only one customer.
They showed me to a table, but since I didn’t know when the crowds would start pouring in, I asked to be seated at the counter.

Today I ordered the top loin cutlet set meal for 1,500 yen. I guess 1,500 yen for lunch is just barely on the line, or perhaps a bit too much. Yesterday’s regular loin cutlet curry was so good that I wanted to try a pork cutlet of a higher grade.
The top loin cutlet set meal arrived 12 minutes and 31 seconds after I ordered it. It doesn’t smell much but looks good. The miso soup seems to be pork miso soup.
I put sauce on the cutlet and took a bite. Oh my God, it was so delicious. Since the restaurant has just opened, the batter is crispy and the pork inside is nice and juicy with a good amount of oil on it, which makes me smile.
Even though it is loaded with abura, it is not the same as the gritty abura of high-end Wagyu beef, but just the right amount. It is just right. The texture is not too soft, but has a nice bite to it, just like meat. It is delicious.
There is also a way to eat it with salt provided at the table. There are two types of salt: Himalayan seawater salt and pink salt. I tried both, but I felt a little mustard on top of the sauce was just right.
The cabbage was sliced thin and fine with a slicer, and the water was not chalky tap water, so it was crispy and tasty. The pork miso soup is also very filling and very filling.
The top loin cutlet set meal has 200 grams of pork. Yesterday’s curry with pork cutlet was 150 grams, but 200 grams was not enough for me because it was too delicious. There is another set meal that is one rank higher, but is it just a different amount of pork or is it a different part of the pork? Or is it a different part of the cutlet?
As one might expect, the 2,000 yen special roast pork cutlet set meal is beyond the lunch price range, but if I have the chance, I would like to try it again.
