It’s 11:30 on Monday, and for the first time in a long while I go to the Western-style famnet at Hotel Listel Shinjuku. Today’s three main dishes are cabbage rolls, sauteed white fish, and tomato-based pasta.
There was only one customer in the restaurant. Today’s order was a pork cutlet sandwich for 900 yen. Salad and drink bar are included.

I quickly went to get a salad and soup. The salad bar was unchanged, but there was simmered daikon radish. The soup was consommé cabbage.
I thought FamNet had good customer service and taste and nothing to say about it, but I found a flaw. The hall staff is no good. The women who are always there are fine, but the men and the slightly older ones don’t look around.
When there happened to be no female staff, the man and the older one had their backs to the entrance and didn’t notice the customers. There is only one entrance to FamNet, but they are both in the back and facing the other way.
As I always say about other restaurants, it is a very poor impression of the restaurant if the customer and the restaurant do not notice each other at the point of entry, when they first meet.
As I watched while eating my salad, the two female staff members kept repeating the same thing until they came back. They don’t notice every time a customer comes in.
Furthermore, when they bring the finished dishes to the customers, they also make mistakes. I found out when I was paying the bill that the man seemed to be a rookie. I don’t have anything to say about that because everyone is new at some point, but perhaps the training is not good enough.
The man who was paying the bill was not like a hotel staff. This kind of detailed customer service and education is a big difference between a first-class hotel and a hotel.
The pork cutlet sandwich I had ordered arrived in 14 minutes and 37 seconds. The food looked delicious. In addition to the pork cutlet sandwich, there were French fries and pickles on the plate.
The fries are very tasty, with just the right amount of salt sprinkled on them. The pork cutlet sandwich is also delicious, with a crispy batter and juicy filling. Eating the pork cutlet sandwich with pickles makes you feel like you are eating a high quality hamburger.
We left the restaurant at 12:06 p.m. The restaurant was about 60% full. The three main dishes are delicious, but the pork cutlet sandwich on the reviewer’s menu is also delicious and highly recommended.
